A Face in the Dark | New Generation English

Precise Summary:

Mr. Oliver, who is an Anglo Indian teacher who teaches in the English public school at Simla which is three miles away from away from Simla Bazaar. He usually goes out after school and returns back very late in the night. One day, he had been out for entertainment, it was a dark night. He saw a boy (school boy) weeping on rock in the pathetic condition.
However, Mr. Oliver was not a nervous and imaginative man but that day he approached near the boy to know why he was crying. He asked many times so many things to the boy. The boy neither answered nor looked at the Oliver. Mr. Oliver also focused his flicking light at the face. He found the face quite horrible, there was no eyes, nose, mouth, ears. Oliver got afraid of that and ran to the school.
There was a swinging/hanging light with a watchman. He explained everything that he had experienced. Later on the watchman also showed his face as that of the previous one. And then the story ended.
